ABOUT ROOT TO RISE

About Root To Rise Therapy

We believe in providing high-end, quality, compassionate mental health care to couples and individuals seeking to increase their self-awareness and enhance their relationships.

Our goal is to help our clients release painful patterns that they carry from their past, and create relationships and lives that they love. We are committed to helping you create healthy and thriving relationships, starting with your relationship with yourself. We provide couples counseling and marriage therapy, pre-marital counseling, and individual therapy for relationship issues, depression and anxiety.

We help our clients work through relationship issues, anxiety, fear, and depression using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, EMDR, Family Systems, and Attachment Theory.

We also believe in providing care for the care-takers, natural nurturers, people-pleasers, those who are extremely good at caring for others, often at the expense of their own well-being. We help our clients learn how to take care of themselves in order to take care of others better.

We provide kind, comforting, compassionate care, and a warm, safe haven for our clients. We became therapists because we believe in the value of the therapeutic process, and that we as therapists are not the agent for change but that we facilitate optimal conditions for our clients to heal themselves. We believe that in order to rise up in our relationships and lives, we must first be firmly grounded and rooted within ourselves.

At Root To Rise, we believe that relationships are our greatest teachers and that there is no such thing as wasted time. Since our relationship with ourselves serves as a blueprint for all other relationships, our therapists are committed to daily practices and self-inquiry that build insight and awareness.

Why Root To Rise?

In 2013, Root To Rise Therapy Founder and CEO Becky White MFT completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training. It was during her training that she was introduced to the concept of “Root To Rise”. Yoga emphasizes the placing of the foot on the floor- how to press all four corners of the sole of the foot into the floor, the big toe, baby toe, food pad, heels and inner and outer arches. The concept is that the more rooted we are in the ground—the better footing we have—the higher we can rebound up. When we have the stability in our roots, we are able to safely extend through our spine, core, and crown of the head, and reach up higher and taller— that by rooting down, we are able to rise up.

Becky jotted this phrase down in her notebook (she is quite the note-taker), knowing that this phrase was important, but not knowing what a key role it would come to play in her own growth not only as a student of yoga but also as a Marriage & Family Therapist, entrepreneur, and business owner.

Root To Rise is a balancing of masculine and feminine energies, the idea that we create a stable structure so that we are are able to access our greatest creativity and freedom. Root To Rise also encapsulates Attachment Theory, the idea that from a stable base, we are able to venture into the world with courage and curiosity.

At Root To Rise Therapy we believe that getting grounded, stable, and safe in our Roots is what enables us to Rise Up to new heights in our careers, relationships, and physical bodies. Our therapists are committed to helping our clients secure their roots, ground themselves, and create foundations to rise to the heights that they are capable of.
