Emily Walker
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

Emily Walker is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #151807) who works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, eating disorders, and self-esteem concerns.

Emily offers a compassionate, inclusive space rooted in respect and curiosity. With a balance of gentle challenging and unconditional support (and even some humor!), she helps clients explore past experiences, better understand their patterns, and move through life aligned with their personal values.

Emily integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) into her work. She tailors treatment to each client’s unique needs and often draws upon varied modalities to create individualized care. Her aim is to support clients in increasing self-compassion and understanding, strengthening emotional regulation skills, aligning behaviors with their personal values, and improving relational communication and connection.

Emily believes the most impactful aspect of therapy is building a safe, trusting connection full of empathy, honesty, and authenticity.

Emily received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

She has gained clinical experience in non-profit and group practice settings working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds on issues such as anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and relationship conflicts.

Emily also has significant experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy adapted for eating disorder treatment (CBT-E). She has training in a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach to eating disorder care and utilizes this experience to work with clients on creating food freedom as well as healing body image and self-worth issues.

A native Southern Californian, Emily loves spending her free time splashing in the ocean and skiing in the mountains. She enjoys traveling, reading and writing novels, ice skating, and spending time with friends and family.

Emily is working under the supervision of Maya Weisfelner LCSW #28267.
